Lansing Parks & Recreation has a policy for situations of extreme heat during games and practices. Games and practices may be held as scheduled, unless the predicted heat index is to reach 105 degrees or higher according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) The predicted heat index reading is monitored by Parks & Recreation staff, and games and practices will be cancelled accordingly.
Field conditions are updated Monday through Friday by 4pm, and Saturdays a minimum of 1 hour prior to the start of games. IF inclement weather arises after the information has been updated, the call will be made to cancel games/practices by game officials or coaches.
